We might feel
empowered to do something but do we have the actual power allowing us to manifest
the desired results?
Empowerment
is like gas in your car. You might have a full tank of gas that
empowers you to move forward but if you can't turn the key in the
ignition, you won't go anywhere.
You can feel
empowered to ask for a raise but that doesn't mean you will get it.
You don't have the power to give yourself that raise if you are not
your own boss.
We might have equal
rights, on paper, but what about in actuality?
How often do women
get jobs as assistants and their male counterparts, who do the exact
same job, have a different, more valorizing job title that allows for
a bigger salary and advancement?
Forget about
feeling empowered, about people, laws and structures supporting
you in having more agency, about lip service given in favor of being
more powerful.
Forget about all
the "rah rah rah" discourse of the women empowerment movement. Forget
about girl power and pussy power.
With all due
respect to these well – intentioned movements who allowed great positive change, who holds
the power in this world? Men or women?
We theoretically
have equal rights but do we live on equal footing with men?
Holding the
power means you witness and experience the tangible proof of your
power in reality.
It
is not about being allowed power it's about having power.
Through
attaining and maintaining a state of queenship, you will be able to
gain and subsequently maintain actual power.
It's great to
feel empowered but are you in power?
